On Keys and "Vocals"

Alex Fowler

Alex Fowler was born in New Orleans, where brass, jazz, and funk were encoded in his character. He first discovered his passion for music as a member of the St. Paul’s Marching Wolves. Now, he is pursuing a marketing degree with an emphasis in Digital Marketing Strategy. In addition to working for Corbec Media LLC, Alex edits music videos for Bog Water and manages the band’s YouTube channel.

On Bass and Guitar

Jonathan Kelchner

Jonathan Kelchner, born in Lubbock, TX and raised in Covington, LA, is a Computer Science major at Ole Miss. He plays the trumpet for the Ole Miss marching band, The Pride of The South, and in his free time enjoys playing his guitar and bass guitar. He currently works seasonally at Eustis Engineering. Some fun facts about Jonathan: he is an avid sumo wrestling fan, his nickname is "Reggie," and he has a scar from Alex in middle school.

What is Bog Water?

Bog Water is a two-man jazz-funk band. Several things inspired our name. It started with our band’s mascot, a frog photographed by Jonathan. We wanted to pick a name that aligned with the image. We chose Bog Water, which not only matches the brand but also pays homage to our NOLA roots.

Watch our latest music video.

Our latest video features Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely.” Alex Fowler’s video editing includes references to the Amazing Digital Circus, a show that inspired our cover. This is also the first showcase of Jonathan’s guitar skills alongside Alex on Vocoder.
